I try and have a positive outlook on the things that happen in life. I know that everything happens for a reason. I know that I am never alone. I know that I can overcome anything...yet, sometimes it is so hard to keep that realization in the front of my mind when the lemons that I turned into lemonade are now once again lemons.
I accepted that I couldn't be a cheerleader any more. I did. It was hard, but I did. I accepted that my shoulder was wrecked and that there wasn't a lot that I could do about it. I did my best to convince myself that it was supposed to happen to me. I didn't know why it happened, but I tried to take this new trial and make the best of it. Instead of being mad that it happened, or dwell on the fact that I could no longer do the thing I loved, I decided to try and learn from it and make the best of it. So I did. I turned my lemon into lemonade. And in the end, it was something that I know I needed to go through.
So now that I couldn't do anything that required a shoulders importance, I didn't have a lot of options...so I started running. I hated running, but it was pretty much all I could do. Wanna know something? After a while I started secretly enjoying it. I was so happy that I overcame something that was hard for me. I began getting better at it...but guess what? Some freak accident of a thing happened to me and I can't run anymore...but I'm hoping that won't last forever. Cause then I wouldn't even be able to do the thing that I went to as a last resort. Just my luck. I'm beginning to wonder when this constant cycle of finding something that makes me happy, getting it taken away from me, finding something else to love, and then getting that taken away from me as well is going to end. I tell myself that it could be a lot worse...I know it could...but for me I can't seem to feel a lot of hope and gratefulness right now. I don't wanna give up...but honestly? Exercising is one of the best things in my life. I wanted to major in Exercise Science and become a fitness trainer. I wanted to run and run and be healthy. And now where does this leave me? My shoulder is still not fully recovered..and it still hurts every day of my life..but I'm dealing with it. But how am I supposed to accept having wrecked shoulder and a messed up foot.
I'm just hoping they will both eventually recover...
I know I need a better attitude and that things aren't as bad as they seem. But right now I'd personally just like to scream.
