So lately I've been reading, because I like to read and so that's what I do.

"Life is a house of cards, balanced on a teeter-totter, precariously perched on a roller coaster. The only thing that should surprise us about our surprised is that we were surprised by them."

The book that has been causing me to become somewhat anti-social is called Promise Me.
Richard Paul Evans it he author and he is one of my all time favorites. 

 I've read most of his books and have adored every single one of them.

His writing style is one that I enjoy and his stories are captivating.
Well, Promise Me is incredible and has allowed me to reflect on certain things about this crazy life...

Sometimes even the ones that we love hurt us.

 It's hard. Especially when the things that they did seems completely unforgivable.

And yet, you still love them even when you wish you didn't.

It seems easier to completely mask your love for them with hate because that is the only thing you can do if your not going to love them.

But in the end, if you are just going to put that hatred away and work on moving forward, why go through all the trouble of completely pushing someone away if you know you will bring them right back when they are gone? 

Sometimes things happen in our lives that seem completely injustice and cruel.

 And at times it seems as though the entire universe is working against you and is seeing how far you can bend until you break. 

 Things make no sense what so ever and it gets frustrating and hope is the only thing that you have to hold on...and once you realize that you get shoved down again.

Giving up seems easier than being let down again...but you know what?

 You can't give up. Because things get better.

Sometimes we build up walls...not because we like to be alone, but because it makes us feel safe.

The unknown is scary because we have no idea what is going to happen...

So we feel content with not taking chances.
Even if taking a chance is exactly what we want to do.

So we sit an wait. Waiting for something to happen. Waiting for something we don't even have a clue about. Waiting for someone, something to come into our lives and climb over those walls.

But if we allow that...aren't we taking a chance right there? Aren't we stepping into the unknown? Contradictory? Yes.
